Procrastinating...

I have loads of things I SHOULD be working on, but instead decided to do something for my own home.  The girls'  bathroom has sky blue, apple green, and bright pink towels and accessories, so decided to take advantage of this old piece of Amy Butler fabric I have and made them a collage piece to match.  This is big - 18x24.  I am going to make two smaller ones to go on the side.  Everything is fabric except the background.  I added some highlights and covered some of the fabric in paint to give it dimension.  I love how it turned out!    I'll take a picture when all three pieces are hanging. 

OH!  See that cute little girl on the right side of my blog?  Well, my eBay group, Ivylane,  is no more.  Several of us decided to start a new group and we have some new gals joining us as well.  We plan to have a very "polka dotty" debut on Tuesday!  Do have a peek at our new group blog if you are curious to see who else is there.   My sweet and talented friend, Gaby , made those cute graphics for us.  Isn't she fabulous?!

My New Eco-Love

I haven't shared any eco tips for a long time!  I haven't had anything new to share.  But yesterday, I got some new inspiration!  I've been using non-toxic cleaners in my home for years.  I tend to be brand-faithful and always buy the same thing, but when browsing through drugstore.com one day, I stumbled across Mrs. Meyers Clean Day and started to read the positive reviews,  so decided to order some.  Oh my - can I say I have found a new love???  Firstly, they work beautifully.  The scrub is AMAZING on my white porcelain sink and on the grout used on our tile countertops, shower walls, and floors (it's that cement-like stuff that is HARD to clean...and we have TONS of it!).  I've tried the dish soap, the laundry soap, the all purpose cleaner, and the scrub and they are all fabulous.  But the best thing?  The SMELL!!!  I am super sensitive to most scents, but this lavender is wonderful.  It's not like most other lavender smells...it's sweeter and softer.  I love it.  And since the scent of lavender is good for reducing stress, I like using it whenever I can.  This stuff is a little pricier than your every day cleaners, but it's safer for the environment, safer for YOU, and really works great!  There are many other products in the line I have yet to try, but you bet I will!  Best prices can be found here... amazon.com.  You can also find them at Whole Foods, the Mrs. Meyers website, and drugstore.com .   The products also come in other scents such as geranium, lemon verbena, and a baby one.   I like that the whole line has the same scent so the smells don't compete with each other when you are cleaning.  When the girls got home from school yesterday, they both noticed and said the house smelled so clean and happy.

Counting the Minutes...

I'm pretty sure Cam already knows how to tell time, but this week the 2nd grade homework is all about telling time.  Cam needed a clock with numbers  (all others had Roman numerals), so we found this one in our storage and put in fresh batteries.  She sat here on my bed holding the clock for a long time announcing, "It is now 5:15.  It is now 5:16.  Mom, is it now 5:17?"    I snuck up on her to get this picture...
