Playing with Fabric...

Firstly, Happy Halloween!   Would you believe it hasn't rained here in over 5 months, but it decides to rain today?  Of course.  But I think we may dry up a little before tonight...we hope!  I have a cat, a freak, and a nun going trick-or-treating with me tonight.  Should be fun, if we don't get all wet!  I have to go help with the 2nd grade party soon, as well.  I get to do the face painting!

I made this a few days ago and finally put it at Etsy.  I love using fabric in collage...I have a bunch of ideas, but haven't sat down to create yet.  She's on a 9x12 canvas...click here  if interested!

Woolfelt Clothespin Dolls

Thanks to my blog readers who've already bought my gray and red clothespin dolls...I'm so excited that you like them!  This one isn't for sale...she is for my 11 year old who also likes these felt girls.  I am making lots more in different colors and hope to have them available in my Etsy shop soon.  This is Matilda...

Black and White

Thought it would be fun to make a black and white doll.  Since I had no gray fabric, tried out some woolfelt for her dress, collar, and bloomers.    Made her a little pumpkin to hold for  Halloween, although I didn't intend for her to be  a Halloween doll.   I think she turned out pretty cute!

My 8 Year Old Baby

Time goes way too fast.  It seems like just yesterday she was an itty bitty thing and now she is the tallest in her class and no longer needs a booster seat!   Today was Cam's  birthday and we celebrated with friends by the pool.   We ate too many cupcakes and had a lovely time.  Here are just a couple of the not-so-great pictures I managed to get.  I need to work on the capturing of memories.  I'm always too busy chatting with the adults and cleaning up after the kidlets.

More Crafting...

I have been focusing my energy on finishing all these little unfinished projects I never seem to get around to finishing.   I've been meaning to make this little wreath  for a long time now.  Inspired by the fabulous Tamar of Nest Decorating (see the link to her blog on the left).  She makes beautiful "dream catchers".   I am making a clay fairy to go in the middle, but until then, Cam's little green bird is hanging out.  We will hang this from the ceiling over her bed when it's all done.  Cam calls it her fairy swing.

Knick-Knack Shelf

Finished these shelves and finally put them in the girl's room.  We have so many little crafty things we've made and need more places to display them!  They don't really go with my olive/sage/taupe/red living room, so in the girls pink/blue/green bedroom they go!
